Safety distances may be omitted entirely or partially, however, in coordination with approving authorities when special safety measures are taken such as adding fire protection, extinguishing, or fire detector technology. Our F 90- / REI 90- / REI 120 fire protection storage units can be used to significantly reduce safety distances in some cases. SADT (self-accelerating decomposition temperature) is the temperature above which peroxides may undergo self-accelerating decomposition. Stored goods must be maintained at a temperature at least 10 °C under the SADT. To ensure the quality requirements and safety criteria necessary for a constant peroxide temperature range, good thermal insulation is essential in addition to fire protection. Our peroxide storage units guarantee outstanding thermal insulation through mineral wool panels (building material class A). Integrated hating/cooling systems ensure the required temperature range is reliably maintained. Technical ventilation prevents explosive air/gas mixtures from collecting inside a room system. In addition, electrical installations are explosion-protected to avoid effective ignition sources. Storage areas for hazard group OP I to OP II organic peroxides also need to be equipped with pressure relief surfaces. Reference values are used to determine the total required pressure relief surface area. We can install this kind of pressure relief equipment in the roof of your storage unit. It is designed to open independently when a pre-defined pressure is reached. After the pressure wave dissipates, it closes autonomously to seal the storage unit. Fire protection is maintained, as we have verified through 120 minute fire testing.
