Observe labelling
Always pay attention to hazardous substance symbols and safety data sheets – they provide important information on storage and handling.

Store in accordance with regulations
Use suitable hazardous substance cabinets or safety cabinets in accordance with BS EN 14470-1/-2 for maximum safety.

Personal protective equipment (PPE)
Wear suitable PPE such as gloves, safety goggles or respiratory protection – appropriate for the substance in question.

The ION-LINE ULTRA combines successfully passed tests and certifications in accordance with EN 14470-1, EN 1363 and VDMA 24994:2024-08, and is also GS-certified!

The ULTRA is also the first  lithium safety storage cabinet to be awarded the highest protection class according to VDMA 24994:2024-08 - I/090 - by the ECB certification body.

12 Mai 2025 001 - ION-LINE PRO and ULTRA now VDMA certified!

We are proud to announce that our ION-LINE PRO and ION-LINE ULTRA models are now certified according to the latest VDMA 24994:2024-08! This certification ensures that our safety cabinets meet the highest requirements for the protection of lithium-ion batteries.

 What's new?
• We have integrated the latest test methods according to VDMA, including a real fire test with cylindrical NMC battery cells (cylindrical NMC 8-1-1, or 9-0.5-0.5-Zellen with SOC >98% at the beginning of the test), which created to a thermal runaway – and the cabinets passed!

• All ION-LINE CORE, PRO and ULTRA cabinets now feature new insulated shelves that ensure safe separation of the storage levels. This prevents a battery fire from spreading to neighbouring levels. At the same time, the shelves ensure efficient dissipation of the heat generated during charging and enable rapid smoke detection throughout the cabinet.

The new 3-point locking mechanism provides additional resistance for ION-LINE PRO and ULTRA models in the event of a fire inside the cabinet.
The ION-LINE ULTRA, also GS-tested, is the first and so far only lithium safety cabinet to be awarded the classification I/090 by the certification body ECB – the highest protection class according to VDMA 24994: 2024-08. It thus combines successful testing and certification according to BS EN 14470-1, BS EN 1363, GS test principles and VDMA 24994:2024-08.

Why is this important?
Reliable protection for lithium-ion batteries is crucial, especially in cases of thermal runaway, where temperatures of over 700 °C can occur. Our ION-LINE ULTRA models have achieved the highest protection class I/090 – the only cabinet to date to receive this certification!
